I found myself thinking about this the other night. It came about as I was talking about dental care with someone I know a little, and to them, it was all about “cheap”. I’m all for cheap and there are times when this just sort of fits the bill. Cheap, possibly even cheerful. Then he asked me about Coppice View. It made me wonder.
I don’t think I would ever say that any dental care was cheap having a good idea of the regulatory and statutory costs involved in healthcare nowadays, not to mention the high-tech equipment and excellent support staff required, I don’t think the words “healthcare” and “cheap” can ever be used in the same sentence. ‘Well in that case, what would you say?’ he asked. To which I replied; surely it was more about value. Isn’t it true that most people want to see an experienced healthcare professional, with up-to-date skills and knowledge, who has the time to spend listening to your concerns and helping you in whatever way you need, at a cost that is reasonable? I asked. ‘Someone who doesn’t work within a limited system driven by targets set by the government, but purely for the good of each individual?”.
“Hmmm, not so bad” he mused. He currently pays £35 a month for his phone so he could see how it’s possible to have things you weren’t sure you could afford without breaking the bank. “When can you see me?…..”
