Composite bonding is an increasingly popular way to make changes to the appearance of your teeth. The treatment involves adding a thin layer of tooth-coloured resin to the surface of the tooth to alter the shape and/or colour. It’s suitable for lots of minor cosmetic requirements including covering small chips or gaps or addressing discolouration issues.
How will I know what the finished result will look like?
Our Smilefast digital service allows you to see on-screen how your smile will look once you’ve had composite bonding treatment. After a digital mock-up, a “trial smile” can be created for you to see any proposed changes before deciding whether to go ahead. Initial digital designs only cost £50 and trial smiles £300; bonding across the upper teeth is between £1,600 (4 teeth) and £3,000 (8 teeth).
What’s involved?
For composite bonding to be applied, we will roughen the tooth to provide a surface for the resin to bond to properly. The resin is sculpted into the required shape and hardened using curing light. The procedure can usually be carried out in just one visit, providing a fast and effective way to fix minor cosmetic issues.
How long will composite bonding last?
Bonding should typically last between 5 and 7 years, depending on a range of factors specific to you.
