What is direct access?
Direct access for dental hygiene treatment gives you the option of making an appointment with a dental hygienist at a practice other than the one you are registered with and without being referred by a dentist.
An example of when this might be helpful is when you’ve moved away from your current dentist and are looking for a local hygienist-only service.
